A Stunning Outside Summer Wedding Ceremony at Norwood Park

If you’ve ever dreamed of an outdoor ceremony in England, you know it’s a gamble—but at Norwood Park, Southwell, Nottinghamshire, the payoff is huge. The Starkey Bandstand is, hands down, one of my favourite places to witness a wedding.

When Lucy & Conor tied the knot here, the vibe was pure summer bliss. As a documentary photographer, I love the bandstand because it allows me to move around the perimeter and capture the guests' reactions without ever getting in the way of the view.

From the tears during the vows to the massive cheer when they walked back up the aisle as a married couple, it was all about the atmosphere.

Why I love Norwood Park Weddings

What I love most about Norwood Park weddings is the flow. Guests can wander the lawns with a glass of Pimm's, kids can run around, and it never feels cramped. It’s exactly the kind of "unstaged" environment where I do my best work.

If you’re weighing up an outdoor ceremony vs. the Drawing Room, I’ve broken down the pros and cons of both in my Norwood Park Venue Guide. You can also find another stunning outdoor wedding ceremony and more beautiful Norwood Park wedding photos at Steve & Laura’s big day
